Description: From the Province: Benthic ecounits are intended to describe the sea bed and nearshore. The polygons in this dataset display "roughness" or relief of the sea floor, which is one of seven variables selected to derive benthic ecounits: 1. Depth; 2. Slope; 3. Relief; 4. Temperature; 5. Exposure; 6. Current and 7. Substrate. British Columbia has been collecting coastal resource data in a systematic and synoptic manner since 1979. Resource information is collected using peer-reviewed provincial Resource Information Standards Committee which includesstandards for data management and analysis. The original source metadata can be viewed from the following link: https://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/geometadata/metadataDetail.do?recordUID=3631&recordSet=ISO19115Time Period Information:Data Collected: Infrequent but ongoingData Publication Date: 2004-02-13Update Cycle: Not PlannedMaPP Update Cycle: As NeededData Acquired: 2012-11-02Last Update: 2013-07-26; no change
